Transatlantic Time Travel: 2007

This is the final edition in the Transatlantic Time Travel series.

Last week, in Transatlantic Time Travel: 1994, I wrote about my perspective as an 18-year-old student on tour and in Europe for the first time.

In 2007, I was on tour in Europe again—as a 31-year-old EF Tour Director. Below is my perspective 13 years on from my first landing.

Must-see music video from Manchester

No cameras? No film? No way to make a music video? No problem! One clever band from Manchester, England, found a creative solution.

Band abandons Antarctica gig

Fall_out_boy American rock band Fall Out Boy was thwarted in its attempt to be the premier globe-trotting rock band.

U2 in 3D: Modern masterpiece

U23d Nothing beats experiencing something live, seeing it firsthand, just being there. That's certainly true about international travel, but it's even true about rock concerts.

The global rock band U2 may be changing that with its new concert film: U2 3D. The Imax film was shot entirely in digital 3D during three concerts in South America on the Vertigo tour. It's billed as the first live-action 3D concert movie.

The result apparently is a cinematic breakthrough. The New York Times last week called the film "a work of art" and said the style "dovetails with the international, humanistic vision" of U2. Two of our favorite blogs—Intelligent Travel and My Wonderful World Blog—also raved about U2 3D, so I thought I'd share it here, too.
