Here are some of the suggestions that one student recently posted on our Facebook page:
- Take any old clothing you have and sell it at a thrift store.
- If you're any good at writing, try to write freelance articles for local newspapers/magazines. (I suggest looking up online to see which publications are open to paying for freelance articles.)
- I have a friend who's in AP studio art for jewelry making, and since she's really good at making earrings and bracelets, she sells her stuff to friends and family. Try to do something similar if you're artistic!
- Have a car wash or a bake sale.
- Offer to pet sit if you can't find a babysitting job.
- Tutoring services.
- Offer to organize birthday parties for children.
- If you're good at photography, offer to take photos for an event or try selling your photos.
- Other odd jobs: clean someone's garage, grow flowers/maintain a garden, dog walking, painting fences, shoveling snow, washing windows.
