If you have (or can find) access to an online computer while you travel, some of Google's free applications could be a great resource. Gmail can be used to save itinerary information, Google Docs can be used to store other important travel information, and, of course, Google Maps can be used to help you navigate.
But Gadling also wrote about turning Gmail into an online storage device. It's a Firefox application called Gspace, and it helps you turn your Gmail account into two gigabytes of free online storage.
